Born Desirée Annette Weeks, Des’ree achieved success in the 1990s and early 2000s with hits including “Life”, “Feel So High”, “You Gotta Be” and “Kissing Me”. Reaching the highest chart position of #1 in Spain for “You Gotta Be”, Des’ree has also had success in the law courts issuing a lawsuit against Janet Jackson for using part of her song “Feel So High” without credit in “Got ‘Til It’s Gone” and again in 2007 for Beyonce’s cover of “I’m Kissing You” on B’Day, something that was again used without permission.
Des’ree has now released any new music since 2003 and has been rumored to have said she would not return to the music business again.
